Prof. Ulrike Arens-Azevedo, born in Siegen in 1949, studied nutrition science and home economics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn, Diploma 1971. Afterwards several years work in Northeast Brazil and studying Saude Pública (Public Health), Instituto de Nutrição, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Recife. 1980 second state examination for teachers in nutrition science and chemistry, later on head teacher of the vocational school of home economics of the Lette Verein in Berlin. Professor at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences from 1989 to 2015, Faculty of Life Sciences, department Ökotrophologie.
